{First Saturday 2012}

Our color scheme is completely different than shown on this pattern.
We are using Moda fabrics with a floral pattern in reds, pinks and yellow golds.
Block #1 is on display at the shoppe.

We are always excited to start a new 1st Saturday program!

Patty has agreed to take charge of the new project for 2012. It will be starting on January 7th.
As in previous years, you can start anytime in January or anytime during the year. If you start after February 4, 2012 you would be required to purchase the previous month at $5.00 per block.

We are happy to report that the cost of this years program will be only $25.00. This will supply you with the pattern for all twelve blocks, all of the background fabric, and the sashing fabric. The Gathering Place will then supply all of the fabrics for the twelve blocks at no cost to you. All of the fabrics are "Moda" 100% cottons. The colors are beautiful shades of red and gold. You must come in on the 1st Saturday of each month to pick up your block and show us your previous months completed block. If you are not able to come to the shoppe on the 1st Saturday you may purchase your block for a $5.00 fee. Additional blocks may also be purchased for $5.00.

The "Traditions" pattern is a sampler quilt. We think you will enjoy learning new blocks each month. The pattern should be fun for beginners as well as intermediate quilters. There are lots of half-square triangles in the blocks. There are many different ways to make these triangles. If you do not have a preferred method, or would like to see the different rulers and papers available, we will be demonstrating them on the launch date of January 7th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. We have a brand new ruler called the Bloc-loc that you may not have seen yet.
